The Ability to Live by the Soul’s Desires Means to be Healthy, Happy and Successful.
2.1. To be able to Hear One’s Heart, One must Stop Being a Slave of Baser Instincts.
If you have not found anything worth dying for, then you do not know how to live.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“You write a lot about the importance of having aspirations, and that this will make us happy. But I have a plethora of desires, yet I continuously remain unhappy, as many of my goals do not come to fruition. Even when some of them do materialize, I only become happy for a mere while.”
First of all, it is very important to distinguish between desires that originate from our true self and ones that are merely fabricated. Our mind will willingly accept everything that involves our own pleasure, and recoil from anything disagreeable to us. For example, as soon as you enter a room and see a cake, the senses of smell and sight seize upon it, sending a message to your mind: “This cake is freshly baked and delicious!” The mind’s reaction is instantly clear: “Go and enjoy it! Take as much as possible!” It does not care that it might possibly be unhealthy, or that there may be something else that should have priority at this moment, etc.

Everything in this world goes through three stages: creation (radjas); maintenance (sattva); annihilation (tamas).
Conscious Choice of Gunas – Foundation for Establishing Successful and Long-Term Projects
To create something you have to be active because any kind of creation in this world requires activity – radjas. But even more difficult is to maintain (sattva) what you have created; it has to be done consistently on a daily basis. In most cases, special effort is not required to destroy something – destruction (tamas) often comes on its own. To produce a good car many people need to labour for many years, but any inexperienced driver can demolish it in just a few minutes. The same applies to people’s lives; if the guna of ignorance enters, their life could be ruined in a moment.
In the Vedas it is stated that Brahma is responsible for creation, Vishnu for maintenance and Shiva for annihilation.
We should consciously transfer ourselves to different gunas, to choose the guna whose energy we need at that point in time. Passion is also required for some creative work, for example, to develop and start a new business project. This is not an easy task – passion means applying substantial effort.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…
And the Word became the flesh.”
The Gospel of John, 1:1; 1:14
We Live the Way we Speak
Buddhist psychology states that the main cause for loss of energy is our speech. Christianity teaches, “It is not as important what comes into your mouth as much as what goes out.” Some individuals may use this instruction to justify their mode of diet that resembles that of a swine, “Eat whatever you want or see,” while ignoring the second part of this statement. Many ascetics and saints went away to lonely places in order to avoid idle talking. According to the Vedas, idle talk is called “prajalpa.” And precisely this is a main obstacle in the way of spiritual and material development. We initially judge a person by the way they speak. Speech identifies personality.

You can only Reach your Goal if You Envisage it
Several thousand years ago the great sage Patanjali said:
“When you are inspired by an exalted goal or some extraordinary idea, all your thoughts begin to tear the shackles which confine them. Your mind exceeds its limits, your conscience pushes away the boundaries of your abilities in all directions and you begin living in a new large and beautiful world. Dormant powers, capabilities and talents come to life and you find yourself much greater than you have ever imagined.”
In ancient times the sages believed that an individual’s life starts from the moment one asks oneself: “Who am I? What is the meaning of my life? What do I live for?” Until then a human being merely leads the life of a refined animal; worrying only about eating, sleeping, copulating and self-defending.

A man as a part of the Universe can be happy only when his heart is open. His mission in this world is to generate and give Love as Love is the only thing that helps us to live in harmony with other forms of life.
(taken from the sayings of Hyperboreans, a highly developed civilization)
I would like to briefly touch upon the subject of Sacrifice, ability to give and take, as it frequently comes up in the readers’ letters.
This is indeed a very serious issue. If you just understand and bring it to your life, you will reach the highest level of Harmony, get rid of all kinds of sufferings and illnesses and, what is the most important, you will reach God’s Love which is the only true meaning of life for all living things.
Why is this question so serious? The thing is, the main principle of the Universe is the exchange of energies. And the most important energy is the energy of God’s Love, which is the basis for all interconnections in the Universe. This energy connects all living things to God.

Basically there are three kinds of medicine in the world:
- Contemporary, which is studied at Universities, and is accepted in all the medical institutions of the western world.
- Alternative medicine, which originates from Ayur-Veda which served as a base for later western medical schools- Chinese ancient school, Tibetan, etc.
- Folk medicine- healers, magicians, shamans, etc. This group is difficult to classify because unlike the other two groups, it lacks any kind of system.
Consequently, every kind of medicine has its’ own matching philosophy. The modern psychology, which is based on the concept “I am this body”, views a person as a smarter ape. Although it claims to work with one’s personality and mind, it has not any clear concept of either one or the other. Ask any modern specialist to tell you frankly, what is the soul or the personality. You will not get any clear answer.
Some representatives of the third group call themselves psychologists or even alternative psychologists, but it is more correct to refer to them as parapsychologists, bioenergetics, mediums or… frauds, who sell magic amulets, or “remove” love damnation for large amounts of money. Many of them are born psychologists, or marketologists, who are expert in convincing people and “playing” on their weaknesses. The main principle of that group is come to me and I will fulfill any of your desires, because you are very weak.

Alternative psychology based on the Vedas is becoming more popular in our time. Its followers think that it fills the “blind-spots” of traditional psychology in. Probably, it is not accidental that most alternative psychologists are qualified specialists who did not find answers in traditional psychology.
One of the founders of the alternative psychology school Rami Bleckt has recently visited the yearly festival of psychologists conducted in Almaty. He says that he has been systemizing and delivering the knowledge to people for past seven years. “I approached alternative sources of cognizing a man after unavailing efforts to find answers in conventional psychology. By the way, it is rather typical for many of our followers. As you know, keenness on psychoanalysis and consulting has become normal in the western society.
But are there many people who consulted with psychologists and can state that they could really change themselves? In most cases, they just wasted the money paid for the consultations. After I started learning and practicing alternative psychology, I understood the reasons for the occasional inefficiency of traditional psychology. So did the people who visited our trainings. Probably, that’s why our trainings at the Almaty festival were the most frequented,” Rami Bleckt says.
